Building Science for Carpenters

Join other carpenters, builders, and construction professionals for an evening of networking, presentations, and discussion on building science and construction techniques for high-performance building. Each month, we will have short presentations from guest speakers around a chosen topic and then open discussion among the group. Drinks and snacks are provided and attendance is open to all. Please note the special location for this month's event below.

June Topic: Hands-On Air Sealing & Large Building Blower Door Test
Featuring: Nick Abreu & Peter Virchick of CLEAResult
A crack team of blower door experts will demonstrate how to perform a blower door test on a large, leaky building. Discussion will include ganging multiple blower doors together to test larger and leakier buildings, advanced blower door techniques and terminology, using the blower door to do air-sealing triage on buildings where it’s hard to know where to start, and other related topics and questions that participants bring to the conversation.

Venue: Lutheran Church of the Newtons, 1310 Centre St, Newton MA 02459
(no church parking; park in any nearby Newton Centre municipal lot or on a nearby street)
